Observers

The Instructor and Stand Alone versions of VBS3Fires provide a user interface component to visualise the most recent locations which have been reported by observers. When an observer sends a location update to a gunline, this new location is recorded and displayed in the ‘Observers’ window. To view this window, from the toolbar:  Records -> Observers. This window contains the name of the observer, the observer callsign, the grid reference of their last recorded position, the actual observer grid position, the time that this position was recorded, and the number of previous location updates this observer has sent. The observer “Latest Grid” value can be edited and then the observer’s position will change to the new grid location entered, this can be viewed through VBS3. The actual observer grid position will be updated when sending Locstats and editing the Latest Grid. Altitudes for the observer’s latest grid position and locstat are automatically calculated and filled into the Altitude and Locstat Altitude columns.
