Radio Net Configuration File
Radio nets are defined in a radioNets.dat file for each
mission. This resides in the top level of the mission directory. If a
radioNets.dat file is not found, then a default radio net is used in its place.
Radio nets can be modified by editing this file in a standard text
editor. Several radio nets may be defined in a single file by simply
listing them after each other in the file.
For every radio net which is
defined, the following information must be included:
- Radio Net Name
- Frequencies (Primary and Alternate)
- Callsigns
To define the radio net name, simply type "-->" and then the desired name. This can consist of multiple words if desired.
To define the frequencies, type ‘#’ and then the numeric frequency designator. At least one frequency must be entered. The first frequency entered is the primary frequency. Any subsequent frequencies are the alternative frequencies.
The first line after the frequencies defines the NCS. Simply type the callsign of the NCS. Optionally a colon (: ) can be added after the callsign to put a name which will not be used by the VBS3Fires system, but which may serve as a useful annotation for the user. Anything after the colon is ignored by VBS3Fires. Note that the callsign should be an alphanumeric value. Special characters such as (“, . / _”) will not load up the radio network properly.
The stations attached to the NCS can be specified by prefixing their entry with a * for observer callsigns and use two asterisks ** for gunline callsigns.. This station is attached to the entry with one asterisk immediately above it. Any station may have a name placed after a colon on its line. VBS3Fires will always ignore these Names. The format for the radioNets.dat file is as follows:

Alternatively, the user can use the VBS3Fires radio net editor tool to modify a radio net. To do this, go to Radio and click the Radio Net Editor button. Then user can open the required radio net by clicking the open button.
If the user wants to add a new radio net using radio net editor the user can click on the “Add” button and give a name to the new radio net. Also user can set frequencies by clicking on “Freqs” button and add callsigns by editing the added radio net.
Note:
The edited or added radio net should save as “radioNets.dat” in the MPmission or myData folder.
