Recording a target can be done in two ways. The first is to click the 'Record Target' button. This will result in the fire asset automatically choosing a target name for the target, recording it, and informing the observer of the chosen target name.

The second method of recording a target is to manually enter a target name, and click the 'Record Target As' button. This button is disabled initially, but will become enabled as soon as some text is entered into the target name text field. When this button is clicked, the fire asset will record the target and provide the observer with a confirmation of the target name.

If a user wishes to record a new target with adjustments to the current target, it can be achieved by clicking on the ‘Adjustments’ button in the ‘Target Registration’ section and entering the necessary adjustment values in the given text boxes. After the adjustments are added then the user can press the ‘Record’ or ‘Record As’ button depending on the user requirement.

When a fire mission is complete, the observer can click the 'End of Mission' button. This will inform the fire asset that it can stand down until a new fire mission is called. The observer also has the option of specifying a battle damage assessment in the text box directly above the 'End of Mission' button. Any text the observer enters here will be sent to the guns to provide them with feedback on the results of the mission.
