SAF-GEARTM smart wearables deliver cost-effective, machine washable, and multi-sensor garments designed to support a variety of military use cases. It can support:

– Biometric monitoring
– Haptic feedback to wearer
– Motion tracking of elements of the body
– Measurement of forces experienced by the wearer

Worn as an ergonomic, sweat-wicking base layer, SAF-GEARTM employs advanced machine learning and near instantaneous haptic feedback to protect,
support and enable military personnel during training and operations.

SAF-GEAR ProtectTM is a lightweight base-layer garment with a software framework which supports physical training and active motion, using real time posture analytics and physical activity data collation. SAF-GEAR ProtectTM enables ergonomically correct physical training to be undertaken in accordance with core or remedial exercise programs, in addition to vastly reducing injury risk (e.g. MSKI) through real-time analysis and intervention of incorrect activity technique likely to result in injury. The SAF-GEAR ProtectTM machine learning algorithms learn from the sensor readings provided by the shirt so that when a user adopts a physical position or experiences conditions that could be a precursor to an injury, immediate haptic feedback is provided to the wearer, and optionally, any Physical Instructors or supervisors. SAF-GEAR ProtectTM provides an important force protection capability reducing likelihood of injury while also collecting an auditable trail of data which can be subsequently analysed if an injury does occur. Example use cases could include:

● Gym work
● Physical training
● Force experienced in vehicles (e.g. pilots, vessel crew in heavy sea states)

SAF-GEAR ImmerseTM is designed to enhance immersion and instructional support for training and simulation through the provision of upper-body haptic feedback and biometric sensors to conduct biometric analysis of users.
Used in conjunction with virtual reality or virtual simulation it can greatly increase the level of immersion experienced in training. It provides:

● Haptic stimulation for inducing stress and increasing immersion
● Non-verbal trainee communication
● Haptic-based situational awareness cues
● Monitoring of trainee biometrics
