Complementary trial of SimCentric's Ambience Pattern of Life Generation Tool
SimCentric Technologies is proud to announce an initiative to enable all VBS3 users a complementary trial of our Ambience Pattern of Life generation tool. Inclusive of all product features and functionality, you can populate your terrains and scenarios with just a few clicks to deliver unparalleled realism to training with no configuration changes from your current system. Whether for tactical decision-making, judgemental shooting, collective mission rehearsal, driver trainers or collateral damage augmentation for Joint Fires, Ambience delivers a real-world fidelity acutely lacking in current synthetic environment training.

Fully integrated into VBS3, Ambience enables you to populate an environment in just a few seconds whilst retaining vast flexibility to immediately modify the population's behaviour in just a few clicks. Ambience empowers you to react some or all of the population in real-time to scenario events or trainee actions to reflect realistic dynamics of a civilian population. Amongst the numerous parameters you control for both human and vehicular entities are:

Population Size:

Specify the exact number of individuals from one avatar to several thousand.

Group Size:

Have your avatars move as individuals, in family size groups, or in large crowds to represent rallies or protests. Control exact ratios for what proportion of your population move in what size groupings.

Population Location/Area:

Nominate the radius for your human population and vehicular traffic to occupy, representing either concentrated population areas such as marketplaces or sparsely populated rural locations.

Demographics:

Build your own model categories to reflect various population compositions as desired from the exhaustive VBS3 library of avatars. Nuances such as ethnic groupings, gender proportions and population age range are all adjustable through a simple "drag and drop" interface.

Casualty Management:

Leave human casualties and destroyed vehicles in the battlespace if conducive to your training scenario, or remove them after a specified timeframe if desired. In addition, replace those casualties with new avatars, or leave the remaining population as the new baseline. If replaced, avatars will spawn in "blind" areas from VBS3 observation points, thereby ensuring scenario realism is retained.

Movement Nuances:

Set "Chaotic Behaviour" to zero to have the population cross at designated crossings and walk along footpaths, with vehicles obeying road rules, thereby simulating developed nations. With a single click, increase "Chaotic Behaviour" to have avatars cross roads at any point, vehicle movement become more disorderly and far more oblique movement representative of developing nations.

Points of Attraction:

Create points of attraction, aversion or fleeing anchored to any geographic point or avatar (static or moving). Assign a radius of interest, percentage of population influenced and speed of movement to represent a few curious villagers investigating a Coalition patrol, all civilians avoiding an IED location, or a village fleeing from arriving insurgent vehicles. Assign curiosity or anger to further reflect the mood of the population.

Full interoperability with VBS3FiresFST:

All Ambience avatars are fully compatible with VBS3 scripted entities and are capable of sustaining damage from small arms fires, indirect fires support and Close Air Support munitions. This enables Ambience to deliver unprecedented realism and complexity in Collateral Damage Estimates (CDE) and Battle Damage Assessments (BDA) for Joint Fires Training, particularly a UAV ISR heavy counter-insurgency environment against time sensitive targets.

Ambience takes the quality synthetic engine of VBS3 and turns it into a living, breathing and reactive environment, complete with real-world complexities and nuances. Through our complementary trial, you can validate for yourself the tangible benefits Ambience brings to any synthetic training environment. With the prevalence of counter-insurgency conflicts and complex urban warfighting, can you afford not to have Ambience as part of your training solution?
